Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

This policy explains how Let's Get Fitness ("we", "us") handles your information when you use letgetfitness.com and the Let's Get Fitness iOS app (together, the "Service"). The Service connects members with personal trainers for workouts, nutrition tracking, meal plans, coaching sessions and community features. Using the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service.

The short version

  • We collect what you give us to run your account, your training and your coaching.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
  • Your trainer can see the training, nutrition and progress data you log once you connect with them.
  • You can export your data or permanently delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile

Your first and last name, username, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). You can optionally add a profile photo, banner, bio and other profile details such as a job title, website or social links.

Health and fitness

Workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights and rest times; workout history; body weight, height and other measurements; progress photos; weekly check-ins; food diary entries, calories, macros and water; nutrition goals; and meal plans. You choose what to log. We do not read data from Apple Health.

Content you create

Social posts, comments, forum topics, votes, articles, direct messages with your trainer or clients, meal photos, check-in notes, and reports you submit about other users' content.

Coaching and bookings

Trainer–client connections, session bookings and invites, session times, locations and meeting links, and, for trainers, availability and booking settings.

Purchases

A record of coaching sessions and coaching subscriptions you pay for or sell (amount, currency, status and date). Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout and are never sent to or stored by us. See Payments.

Device and technical information

An app-specific device identifier used to manage sign-in sessions, a push notification token if you allow notifications, the time you were last active, and IP addresses and request details that our servers use for security and rate limiting. We count visits to our public homepage in aggregate, without identifying visitors.

Support requests

If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can help you.

2. App permissions

The iOS app asks for these permissions only when you use the related feature. You can change them any time in iOS Settings.

  • Camera: to scan barcodes and photograph meals.
  • Photo library: to choose meal photos, progress photos and profile pictures. Only the photos you pick are uploaded.
  • Face ID: optional sign-in. Face ID is handled by iOS; we never receive your biometric data.
  • Calendar: to add booked sessions to your calendar. We don't read your existing events.
  • Notifications: for messages, session invites, check-ins and rest timers.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account, including email verification, sign-in codes and password resets.
  • To provide the Service: logging workouts and food, meal plans, grocery lists, progress tracking, messaging, bookings and the community.
  • To connect you with your trainer and let them coach you.
  • To process payments for coaching.
  • To send notifications and emails you've enabled. You can turn these off in your settings.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, moderate reported content, and enforce our Terms.
  • To keep the Service running, fix problems and improve features.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we never use health and fitness data for marketing or sell it to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

Your trainer

When you connect with a trainer, they can see your food diary, workouts, check-ins, body measurements, progress photos, goals, bookings and messages with them, so they can coach you. Trainers can't see your data unless you've connected with them, and ending the connection stops their access to new data.

Other members

Your posts, comments, forum topics and public profile are visible to other members, subject to the privacy settings on your profile.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the Service:

  • Web hosting: stores our servers and database.
  • Stripe: payment processing, plus payouts and identity checks for trainers.
  • Mailgun: sends account and notification emails.
  • Google (Gemini API): powers AI features. See AI features.
  • Google (Gmail): receives and stores support emails you send us.
  • Apple Push Notification service: delivers notifications to your device.
  • Google Fonts: serves the website's fonts, which lets Google see your IP address.

Barcode lookups and food searches query public nutrition databases (USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts). We send only the barcode or search term, never your personal information.

Legal reasons

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others. If Let's Get Fitness is ever merged or acquired, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. AI features

When you photograph or describe a meal to estimate its nutrition, or when a trainer uses AI Studio to draft workouts or meal plans, the image or text involved is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a result. We send only what's needed for that request. Google processes it under its API terms, which don't allow it to use the data to train its models. AI results are estimates. Check them before relying on them.

6. Payments

Members pay trainers for real-time, one-to-one coaching through Stripe Checkout, which opens in your browser. Stripe collects and processes your card details under the Stripe Privacy Policy. We receive only the transaction details needed to confirm your booking or subscription. Trainers who accept payments set up a Stripe account, and Stripe handles their identity verification and payouts.

7. Cookies and local storage

The website uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser. We don't use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. The iOS app stores your sign-in token in the iOS Keychain and keeps some data on your device, such as unsynced workouts, so the app works offline.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently erase your profile and the data linked to it, including logs, photos, posts, messages, billing records and device tokens, and cancel any active coaching subscriptions. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time before they're overwritten. Stripe keeps its own record of past payments, as payment laws require. See how to delete your account.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: download a ZIP of your data from the Your data section of your profile (in the app, More → Profile).
  • Correct: edit your profile and logs at any time.
  • Delete: permanently delete your account from the Account section of your profile, on the website or in the app. Step-by-step instructions.
  • Control visibility and notifications: use the privacy and notification settings on your profile.
  • Revoke permissions: turn off camera, photos, calendar, Face ID or notifications in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Economic Area and UK), you may have extra rights to know, access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We process your data to provide the Service you signed up for, with your consent where you give it (such as for optional permissions), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure. To use any of these rights, email letgetfitnessapp@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We won't discriminate against you for making a request, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Security

Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed, sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, and email sign-in codes help protect your account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

11. Children

The Service isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Where your data is stored

We're based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to the U.S.

13. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
